As the title, after updating to Windows 11 24H2 and enabling WSL, it prompts to first execute wsl.exe --update
.
However, executing wsl.exe --update
prompts a catastrophic error
.
It seems that the inability to install is due to issues with the WSL support that comes with 24H2. Reinstalling WSL can solve the problem.
Solution#
First, download Dism++.
After opening it, click on Appx Management
.
Find the item prefixed with MicrosoftCorporationII.WindowsSubsystemForLinux
, select it, and uninstall it.
Then download the WSL installation package.
Open and reinstall WSL.
If there is an error, please confirm whether WSL has been uninstalled before.
After reinstalling, try installing the Linux distribution again.
Problem solved.
